What does almond smell like?
Almond in perfume often evokes marzipan or bitter-almond aroma more strongly than a barely scented raw nut. It can be powdery, sweet and softly cherry-like. Woods and coffee make the impression drier; vanilla and sugar make it more confectionery-like.

The material behind the impression
Almond accords are commonly reconstructed using aromatic materials. A listed almond note does not establish almond oil or food allergens in a finished perfume. Candied almond is kept separate because it explicitly adds a caramelised-sugar interpretation.

Its place in the composition
Almond softens a gourmand opening and links coffee or cacao to a richer base. Heliotrope echoes the powdery facet, while vanilla rounds the sweetness. It can provide a quiet nutty texture even when the perfume’s main theme is floral.
