What does georgywood smell like?
Georgywood is associated with a clean woody-amber impression: dry, smooth and diffusive rather than the smell of a flower or freshly cut tree. Its woody character can suggest polished timber with an ambery glow. How prominent it feels depends on the surrounding composition and the material grade.

The material behind the impression
Georgywood is a trade name associated with synthetic woody aroma materials developed by Givaudan. It is not a tree species or an essential oil extracted from wood. It is distinct from Akigalawood and ambroxide-type materials such as Ambrofix. A fragrance note list describes the intended scent, not its exact formula or sourcing.

Its place in the composition
In Blue Horizon, Georgywood is recorded in the heart beside orange blossom. It gives the floral centre a modern woody frame between the pear, citrus and ginger opening and a musky, dry woody base. Musk can soften its texture while citrus keeps the overall impression bright.
