What does vanilla orchid smell like?
Vanilla orchid is a descriptive floral note that may feel creamy, delicate or gently sweet. It is not a standardised smell, and should not automatically be treated as a strong vanilla-pod accord. In a composition, jasmine and sweet base notes can shape the orchid impression substantially.

The material behind the impression
Vanilla is an orchid genus, but the familiar vanilla aroma develops in the cured fruit. A note called vanilla orchid is typically an artistic floral construction rather than a declaration of extracted vanilla flowers. The distinction matters when matching a perfume to a vanilla-pod guide.

Its place in the composition
Vanilla orchid can introduce a soft floral opening before warmer gourmand notes arrive. Jasmine gives it radiance, tonka bean adds sweet powder and amber supplies depth. Its placement varies because the note describes an accord, not one raw material with a fixed evaporation behaviour.
