01

The idea

Incense brings a cool, resinous smoke; vetiver adds earthy dryness. It is a meditative, quietly confident pairing.

02

What it may smell like

A cool, smoky, mineral wood.

03

Why the notes work

Both have a smoky facet, so they reinforce each other while staying dry.

How to layer

Apply in this order.

Best for: autumn and winter · evening, work.

  1. 01

Vetiver first, incense on top, one spray each.

  2. 02

Spray onto pulse points (wrists, neck, inner elbows) from about 15 cm away. Do not rub: it dulls the top notes.

  3. 03

Start with fewer sprays than you would wear of one perfume. Two extraits together can be intense; build up over a few days of wear.
