What does vetiver smell like?
Vetiver spans fresh grassy brightness, dry roots and earthy wood. Some interpretations have grapefruit-like lift, others a smoky or nutty depth. It is a grass-root reference rather than a tree wood, even though it often performs a similar structural role in perfume.

The material behind the impression
Vetiver oil is distilled from Chrysopogon zizanioides roots. Origin, processing and fractions influence its aroma. Haitian vetiver is a geographic descriptor within this guide; the note does not certify sourcing or prove natural oil in a particular formula.

Its place in the composition
Vetiver gives citrus a dry destination and keeps sweeter bases from becoming too rounded. Grapefruit echoes its bitter brightness, patchouli deepens earthiness and sandalwood softens the grain. It commonly anchors the base but can be perceptible from the opening.
