What does geranium smell like?
Geranium has a rose-like facet, but the leaves matter as much as the flowers. A green, minty or slightly lemony edge keeps it crisp. Beside richer rose notes it can feel like a fresh stem running through the bouquet, rather than another layer of dense petals.

The material behind the impression
Perfumery geranium oils are associated with scented Pelargonium plants, not every garden plant called geranium. Oils and reconstructed accords vary in their rosy and minty balance. The name does not imply the presence of rose extract or identify a finished perfume’s exact material.

Its place in the composition
Geranium is a useful bridge between herbs and flowers. Lavender emphasises its aromatic side; rose makes the floral relationship clearer. It can also lift oud or incense, supplying fresh detail inside a darker composition without changing the base into a light perfume.
