What does woody notes smell like?
Woody notes can be dry, creamy, smoky or softly ambery. The label gives a scent direction but not a particular tree. A broad woody base might feel clean and light or rich and dark depending on how the perfumer combines its materials.

The material behind the impression
Woody notes is an umbrella accord description. It may use natural oils, synthetic woody materials or both. It must not be expanded into cedar, sandalwood or oud associations without actual catalogue evidence. The mixed timber photograph is illustrative only.

Its place in the composition
A woody accord provides structure beneath fruit, flowers and gourmand notes. Vanilla softens it, patchouli adds earth and musk smooths the transition. Its common base role helps other notes feel grounded without necessarily making the fragrance a wood-dominant scent.
