What does brazilian rosewood smell like?
Perfumery rosewood can be softer and more floral than the dense furniture-wood image suggests. A fresh, linalool-like brightness sits with gentle wood and spice. It is not rose perfume: the name points to a wood reference, not petals.

The material behind the impression
Brazilian rosewood oil is associated with Aniba rosaeodora. The word rosewood is also used for unrelated timbers, so botanical and sourcing claims require care. A perfume note may be a reconstructed effect and does not certify natural oil, species or sustainable sourcing.

Its place in the composition
Rosewood can link cardamom-like freshness to richer oud or sandalwood. Its floral-woody softness helps transitions feel smooth rather than abrupt. It is commonly described around the heart, where it supplies texture without necessarily the heavy dryness of cedar.
